Maker Club
Created to provide students a creative outlet in school by fostering ideas and tinkering. Secured a grant through the Dryden Youth Opportunity Fund and a 3D printer via district monies. Students created using 3D printing software, soldering, electrical wiring, model rockets, duct tape projects and programing using Raspberry Pi.

Adaptive Schools Training
Developed skills that help form the collective identity and capacity of organization members as collaborators and inquirers. Developed skills as facilitators and learned to implement and describe specific ways to weave collaborative working skills into a professional community. Developed protocols for facilitating group behavior for improved leading, teaching and learning.

Sustainability Club
Student led club, which focuses on sustainable projects and school beautification. The club created a school garden, greenhouse and recycling program as well as had a significant presence in the community.

Green Team
Developed and spearheaded sustainable initiatives at Dryden Central Schools including: compost program, energy surveys, upcycled dance and graduation gowns.

Groton Honeybee Project
Facilitated the development of a student-driven project designed to provide students with an opportunity to better appreciate our food supply, investigate colony collapse disorder, as well as engage a multitude of students with varying interests. Students proposed projects to principal and superintendent, presented to Board of Education, secured grants, developed the sites and created departments to deal with many facets of project. Created revenue stream to support other student centered projects.

Make-A-Difference Day” Construction Project Leader
In conjunction with Cornell Cooperative Extension and Groton Youth Services, worked with Groton students, community members and fellow teachers to construct an earth and rock stairway to improve access to the school trail system.

Book Club
Informal student-driven club that met weekly to discuss current book selection. Facilitated student comprehension and social engagement by supplementing book discussion with book-based movie/documentary (when available) over a series of lunch periods.

Middle School Boys’ Campout Organizer
Worked with fellow male middle school teachers to provide several activities designed to improve teamwork, compassion, and leadership for middle school boys during an overnight campout at the school.

Volunteer Assistant Modified Baseball Coach
Worked closely with the modified baseball coach to supervise and improve players’ fundamentals and skills during practices. Responsibilities included attending practice and games and coaching first base.
