Technology Integration and Curriculum Specialist:

Serve as technology leader for 9 districts in order help teachers to maximize student learning environments. Focus on PBL, New York Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS), Computer Science for All Consortium, asynchronous learning and ePortfolios. Awarded $600,000 Learning Technology Grant from New York State to fund the Teknologia Project which is designed to engage educators in a supportive environment where they are encouraged to explore areas of interest and/or passion to grow their pedagogical and leadership skills. Planned and developed the “Library of Things” which is a lending library of technology tools for classroom educators. This resource provides over 500 tools, from drones to 360 cameras and robotics, that are supported by our technology integration specialist.

2012-2016

Dryden Central Schools

Tenured Teacher Dryden High School:

Created and facilitated student-centered lessons for Regents Earth Science and Environmental Science. Developed non-regents skills-based curriculum for lower level students that focused on use of technology for critical thinking and problem solving skill development. Continued development of inquiry-based learning, such as the use of case studies, problem and project based learning and the use of electronic portfolios.

2004-2012

Groton Central Schools

Tenured Teacher Groton High School:

Developed and implemented enriching, student-centered lessons for Regents Earth Science (9 years), environmental science-based courses (2 years), and Astronomy (1 year).  Proven ability to develop high-quality differentiated instruction to accommodate a range of learning styles and abilities.  Strong emphasis on inquiry-based learning, such as the use of case studies, problem and project based learning, and the use of electronic portfolios. Developed curriculum incorporating technology as a tool in and outside of the classroom resulting in observed student excitement toward discovery and learning.  Created a positive learning environment grounded in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
